The Franco-German seminar in Otzenhausen

To mark the sixtieth anniversary of the Élysée Treaty between President Charles de Gaulle and Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, a seminar has been organised at the Europaïsche Akademie Otzenhausen from 30 May to 3 June 2023.

Liebst du mich eigentlich noch ? 60 Jahre deutsch-französische Freundschaft. Und jetzt ?

This seminar brought together 9 French students and 11 German students to work on past, present and future relations between France and Germany.

The activities proposed were fun and allowed the pupils to overcome the language barrier and work together on different themes (quizz, binational pair activities). To illustrate the past of Franco-German relations, a visit was organised to Otzenhausen, where pupils were able to discover the remains of the Siegfried Line.
To strengthen the links between the pupils, a rally in the city of Saarbrücken was organised by the pupils, with specific objectives to be achieved.
The final objective of the seminar was to create a Berlin bear, so the students were introduced to the artistic technique with a German artist and created the Berlin bear with their vision of Franco-German relations.

The seminar was a great success for students from both countries:

Great trip, we had a great time and met some new people
and discovered a new culture.
Achille

It was great, it helped us improve our language skills.
Martin

It was an incredible trip, we had a great time with the Germans and discovered their culture.
and discovered their culture.
