Frankfurt Friedrich DESSAUER Gymnasium: celebrating 10 years of partnership in 2023
After visiting Frankfurt at the beginning of May as part of our Erasmus accreditation, we were happy to welcome our German counterparts from May 29th, to June 3rd.
The group was composed of 11 students (all of them following a reinforced French course) and two teachers, Daniel RICHTER and Marita UHLING. They arrived at Lille Europe station on May 29th, awaited by the host families.
Students and their teachers attended different classes in our General and Technical High School Ozanam in Lille, discovered the school and the French educational system. They also took part in a rally in Lille and historical visits were organized:
the remembrance tour of the Somme battlefields in 1916,
the Historial of the Great War in Péronne,
the native house of the General de Gaulle in Lille. A visit followed by a presentation on “De Gaulle and Germany”: his origins, his captivity during the First World War, the Second World War and especially his role in the Franco-German reconciliation.
We’re looking forward to our next year’s linguistic and cultural exchanges (from 29/01/2023 to 04/02/2023 in Germany – In Lille from 05/03/2023 to 11/03/2023) which will be the occasion to celebrate a double anniversary:
the 60th anniversary of the Franco-German Friendship Treaty of the Elysée
& the 10th anniversary of our partnership with Frankfurt Friedrich DESSAUER Gymnasium
