Trip to Garmisch Partenkirchen

After 3 years, we are finally back in Germany with our partner the Werdenfels-Gymnasium in Garmisch Partenkirchen. The group of 30 pupils of seconde accompanied by Anastasia FETNAN, German teacher, and Christèle FLAMENT, Mathematics teacher, were welcomed in Bavaria from 20 to 26 March 2023.

During this stay, the students shared the daily life of their pen pals at the school and with their host families. They discovered Bavarian culture and put their language skills into practice.

The programme also included a guided tour and rally of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the stadium where the 1936 Olympic Games were held, the city of Munich, the BMW-Welt exhibition centre, Linderhof castle and the town of Oberammergau.

The stay ended with a Franco-German dodgeball tournament and a friendly meal in the school with the pen pals’ families.

The next step will be to welcome the German pupils to Lille in June!

Some impressions….

“A very interesting exchange with a varied programme. The family was very kind and welcoming, everyone accepted me and we had a great time! One precious memory I will keep is the day on the ski slopes. It was my first time in the mountains!
I really hope that my pen pal and I will keep in touch.
Quentin B. 2nd year 55

“Although at the beginning I was hesitant to participate in the exchange, after having done it, I don’t regret anything! It was great! Really interesting and enriching! Discovering a new culture, Bavaria which is a beautiful region, new friendships … It also allowed me to consolidate and improve my language skills. I had a great time!
If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t hesitate!
